s i r e n : Maria Jardardottir was commissioned to collaborate with artist, poet and publisher Alec Finlay, sound recordist Chris Watson and folk singer Clive Powell in the lyrical multimedia piece "siren"; a field recording of a sung performance accompanied by the swelling flow of high tide at dawn in a Northern English harbour, - subsequently and beautifully composed by Watson into a poetic field of sound. #3_Endenor E n d e n o r : Is a trio collaboration between German reeds and woodwind player Ove Volquartz, English guitarist Chris Sharkey and Norwegian voice musician Maria Jardardottir. The three musicians have hugely different and resourceful musical backgrounds and meet on the grounds of totally free and anarchist improvisation, also at times infused with the utilization of the Norwegian poems of Jardardottir. Maria Jardardottir was commissioned to part take as collaborative solo improvising voice musician in the Danish up and coming choreographer Matilde Mørk's piece "May all beings be happy and Marie Hallager" shown at Denmark’s main stage for contemporary dance, Dansescenen, and at Idrætsskolerne i Oure September 2005.

M e l a t o n i n ' s _ o r i g i n : Melatonin is a music project that sometime in 2003 started to manifest itself as the audible product with the distinct identity it has today. However, it is perhaps most correct to say that the initial ideas and foundation for the project already came about around the mid 90s when Jardardottir started to experiment with very plain tools for electro acoustic compositions and improvisations in her little home studio then situated in Oslo. #7_Kat_One K a t _O n e : In 2000 Maria Jardardottir and English multimedia artist and animator Jonti Picking aka Weebl, living in two different countries, formed an exciting electronica music collaboration purely based on the internet as a communication medium. Sound files were sent back and forth via CDs in the post and instructions were transmitted through email. More...
