When Jonti provided Maria with this atmospheric, hovering and energetic drum’n’bass-like track the piece itself was very much finished in terms of structure and form. Immediately when hearing the track and the open and floating characteristic of it Maria felt it most natural to add a flowing improvised voice track to it, rather than a written song-based contribution.
