| In 2000 Maria Jardardottir and English multimedia artist and animator Jonti Picking aka Weebl, living in two different countries, formed an exciting electronica music collaboration purely based on the internet as a communication medium. Sound files were sent back and forth via CDs in the post and instructions were transmitted through email. |

| It all started out with Maria browsing the internet in need of some information on sound file conversion. Through the research she came across Jonti’s then “Weebl’s Junk” website which at the time contained loads of helpful links and tips on computer based music. To further assist Maria’s difficulties with the conversion trouble she was experiencing she emailed Jonti for some advice which he kindly provided – and a little contact was established. Then, on a later occasion, when Maria revisited Jonti’s website for use of its several brilliant clusters of handy PC music tools, she saw that he had put up a call for singers on his news page; encouraging them to get in touch with him for collaboration on some tracks he was working on at the time. Maria then dropped Jonti another email telling him a bit about her work and that she would be interested in hearing the tracks and to furthermore see if it there might occur a natural spark of creative musical energy coming out of the listening. |

Well pleased about the response and initiative Jonti passed on the first track to Maria who subsequently quite organically wrote the melody and lyrics for it and returned the recorded voice tracks to him for putting it all together. Jonti was so happy about the result that he decided to hand over some more tracks for Maria to write the vocal parts and lyrics for, - and hence a collaboration between two musicians who had never actually met and who were living in two different countries on the globe took shape. |
