Dance artist James Jackson and voice musician Maria Jardardottir founded an original and experimental collaborative duo in 2006. They cross each others’ boundaries as creators and performers in their respective artistic practices and meet in an expression where the body and the voice is their mutual, one instrument.

J&M create and perform their own work. They take on commissions and workshops for performing arts’ organisations and companies of differing ages and abilities. If you are interested in booking J&M, please get in touch.

The nature of the work is stimulated by the individual’s creative process of exploring and cultivating their own expression through voice and movement. The practice of J&M’s work often displays a rawness which is liberating and distinctive. The work questions the individual’s comfort zone and boundaries and challenges the safe versus the unstable.
